What does an X represent?

The model was not able to determine a significant relative strength on a dicotomy. Both functions measured equally strong. For example an ESXJ measured equally strong Thinking and Feeling.

What to do next?

If you took a short test, try either the comprehensive test or the adaptive test for more accurate results.

An X can be an indication of inner change or conflict. If you were influenced by such a conflict, clear your mind and take the test again. A way to get the conflict out of the way is to take the test twice, once when thinking of what is expected from you (by your job, your spouse, your family and friend) and a second time while keeping these thoughts out of your mind.

Read the descriptions for the two possible profiles and try to identify the one that better reflects you. For the above example that would be ESTJ and ESFJ. If at least your temperament is clear (one of SP, SJ, NT, NF), read the temperament description to check if it matches.

If you still don't know, wait a few weeks before taking the test again, or seek professional counseling.
